About this venue
The Boiler Room Sauna Sheffield
The Boiler Room was Sheffield's only gay and bisexual sauna, and the sole venue of its kind anywhere in South Yorkshire. Sited at 208 Savile Street East in Attercliffe, a short trip from the city centre, the building had served the city's gay community for decades — most recently as Bronx Sauna, before being taken over and significantly refurbished by the team behind The Boiler Room Brighton. Spread across two floors, it paired a spa and social area — sauna, steam room, a large central jacuzzi, and a licensed bar serving hot and cold food — with private cabins and cruising spaces upstairs. The Boiler Room was best known for its weekly event programme, with three Naked Days a week and late-night Friday parties including CumUnion and Bears Night, and was widely regarded as a welcoming, inclusive space for the city's LGBTQ+ community.
The former Boiler Room business closed in 2026. The new operator says it took over the premises in May and opened ClubZeus Sheffield on 21 August 2026. Steam Complex is temporarily closed pending relocation and is not an open alternative.
This is a historical listing for The Boiler Room, not the current business at the address. For a gay sauna in Sheffield or South Yorkshire, see ClubZeus Sheffield. The premises are on Savile Street East.
The former venue served visitors from Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, Chesterfield and the wider region. Its former programme and facilities are recorded here as history, not current visitor information.

Why We Keep Listings of Closed Saunas
We know how frustrating it is to travel to a sauna only to find it shut — sometimes there is no sign, no update on social media, and no answer on the phone. That experience is exactly why we keep records of venues that have closed.
By maintaining this listing, we can tell you definitively that The Boiler Room Sauna Sheffield is no longer operating, saving you a wasted journey. Search engines and old forum posts often continue to surface closed venues for years after they shut — our job is to make sure that when you land here, you get the truth immediately.
If you are looking for an alternative, use the Nearest Gay Saunas section above, or search our full directory for venues open near you today.
